Those were the days..... Milwaukee had the hippest punk sceen in the 80's long live "Earth Shoe"

1986 was in the golden era of skateboarding. No one was making any money, and street skating was being invented on a daily basis. Venice was the center of the skateboarding universe (some say it still is), and style was still just as important as going big. I will always have fond memories of the Venice Boardwalk in those days. You could show up with a carload of friends and skate for 8 hours with pros and ams, including Natas, Jesse, Alva Team, Hosoi, DTS, etc. They were cool with outsiders on their turf, but you'd better show heart, and you'd better not cry when you slammed hard. It was such a great time!
